I’ve made the trip up to the Eastern Sierras a few times in the last couple of years. It’s a pretty amazing area and one is surrounded by all kinds of wonderful elements of nature. Usually I’ve spent most of my time trekking up in the various Mountains, but on a recent visit I decided to explore more of the Owens Valley area which lies to the East of 395. I discovered a bunch of dirt roads that run for miles near the Owens River. In one location I came upon a rather animated group of Birds and Cows down on the Valley Floor so of course curiosity sent me down until I reached a barbed wire fence and recorded for a bit.
This is an area high atop the Angeles Forest, about ‘7500 Foot Elevation I hike to a couple times a year. There’s always a constant mountain wind blowing through the Pine Trees. This summer afternoon a Fox Sparrow and Western Tanager provided the cool melody back and forth high up in the Trees.
